life is good...
« on: April 24, 2008, 09:25:23 AM »
Finished up some nasty tasks at work.. nearing retirement...  Son came to visit and his shop is doing well..even gave me t shirts.   weather is mild and.. well.. perfect... took the day off.  old inuries are not complaining too much.   getting around well.. feel good.

I will fire up the el camino.. it has a half a tank of premium in it...  drive on out to the range to work up some loads on my new Henry big boy in 44 mag and an old "sporterized" 8mm mauser I found for cheap.

All back roads and new u joints.. the elky is like glass at 120 takes about 14 seconds to get there. 6-14 mpg but.. who gives a crap..

kid down the street is half owner in a paint shop.. he needs some work and offered to 2 stage paint the elky for a very good price.. he does custom work.    has a frigging chopped top fleetline of all things! if you can chop a top on a fleetline you can probly invent a time machine.

will pick up my beautiful little grand daughter for the weekend and she is old enough to want to ride around a little on the tank of the motorcycle.. just around the block a little.. will watch her ride her bike and skate.

It's a great life we have eh?

Damn sweet lazs....but I guess you didn't get the memo. You're suppose to be panicking and chewing your fingernails awaiting Obama to save us all. Glad you are doing well.

Got a new car. Walked my dog all over the huge reservoir behind my place in the wonderful sunshine and 80 degree temps. Cooked up rack of lamb last night. Went shooting over the weekend. Kicked back with some iced tea and the book "Rickenbacher". Did some Muay Thai for a few hours to work out. Watched the non-stop stream of vintage aircraft on approach over my place all weekend due to the airshow only a mile or so away.

Now I'm way ahead of the game at the home office, so it's time to open the sunroof and cruise for a bit.

Good times indeed Lazs.

sounds good Laz.  a good way to spend the weekend.
Anyway you can get a pic of the chopped fleetline?  My dad had a 47.  Sounds like it would be pretty cool.

Good for you, Lazs- having met you and "hung out" you know I wish you the best in life...You're a good man.

We're doing pretty good also- we just hired our first "real" employee yesterday, the business is setting records monthly, and we're paying off debt so we'll be completely debt free by December. We've been working til 9-10 every night to try to keep our weekends open, but it looks like I'll have to work part of a day Saturday, then maybe take that M-14 out Saturday evening and burn through some ammo. Sunday we'll go for a drive- we'll stop for breakfast in Hopland, cruise over to the coast to Mendocino, hit a brewpub in Guerneville for lunch and stop at some wineries on the way home, maybe get some Champagne at Korbel.

You should take a road trip and come up here some weekend Lazs. If you're thinking of retirement this is a great place to live- we have the same type of weather you have, only we don't get that tule fog so unless it's raining it'll usually be a nice, sunny day. This is definately the nicest place in the world to live, bar none.

airhead.. glad to hear the business is going well.. glad to hear that hottie you call your wife hasn't wised up and left you.

You are a lucky man to live in such a nice place and to be doing what you want..  I hope that if you are working hard that it feels right.   Love to get out your way.   I will be looking for a place to live as soon as I retire and the market gets good enough to sell my place for a sinful price so I can live out in the boonies and have enough to build a nice little shop and backyard range..  fix up the house a little to please my little mexicans.
