So far so good on the e8500. I'm leaving it at 4 ghz for now
Okay, I'm leaving it at 3.34 for now. I want the A5 to cure before I oc any further. I read the instructions (This time). It seems that the chip actually runs long toward the gold triangle end. I put a bead of Arctic Silver down the middle of the CPU, the length of the chip. When I had my e8400 at 3.6 it was a noticeable difference. It confirmed what Skuzzy said about the game being CPU intensive.
I did make a small booboo. I ordered 1066 ram and my MB only supports DR2 800. Oh well, guess I will have some for the other machine or maybe even the next machine. Ah if only it did support DDR2 1066. That would be 9.5 x 533 = 5.0635 ghz. However at 9.5 x 400 that = 3.8 Ghz
I never would have bought the E8500 if the E8400 was good. I had to do something to test it. I figured for just $20 bucks more I would go with the E8500. The price on the E8500 had dropped by over $70.
Let me know how that Ram over clocking goes. I've never done that.
