Noir, no offence but, you must have a screw loose.   ....of course anyone who flys a crate like our bombers has to have at least ONE screw loose. It is about 1 to 1 for ktd ratio for bombers and I would guess 2 to 1 for buff hunters as 1 in 3 bombers seems to be one of the twin engined bombers and most of those and some of the heavy buffs tend to get jumped by 3-4 fighters with accaptably skilled pilots at the stick. .....at least from what I've seen while buff hunting, escorting, and flying a buff myself, and even gunning. One time this guy came in so fast and pulled up so close to me that I swear that if he'd had his gear down his TAIL WHEEL would have brushed my tail if he'd waited 0.0001 seconds more to pull out of his attack. And besides it will give newbs a chance to make it over the target and get some practice droping bombs outside of the practice arenas and training arena.

You do know if you are attacked right all three of your planes will go down with out you getting a single hit on the attacking fighter. So convergence is moot in that circumstance.

Chewiex, you do realize if you set the convergance for the formation in the hanger you will only change where the guns hit and not how long the planes will be in the zone where all possible guns are aimed? Like I said before the time it will take for bogies to pass through that zone will change very little if at all. What we NEED AND WOULD BE USEFULL is to quickly set convergance of all guns in the formation that can hit your target so you can keep them in that deadly zone of fire. the only problem I could POSSIBLY see would be if the bogies got close enough then stray bullets from the waist turrets might hit other bombers.

Yes, I do realize this. I also realize that being able to get all guns set out further or closer gives you a better chance to defend your formations. As some have stated before, most attackers start spraying at 1k, your formations convergence is default at 500yds. If you are able to set your guns to converge at D650,D750,D1k... you can get MORE lead on or closer to the aggressor than you can now, granted the only guns on the bombers that can effectively damage or kill at longer ranges will be the US .50's. Obviously the smaller caliber guns on some of the bombers wont be as effective out to those further ranges. Once the aggressors gets inside of the now default convergence of 500 yds, you can only get one set of guns on them anyways.
Realistically, the formations guns should act like the guns on the PT boats. When you fire "ALL" guns at a target, they all fire at the target you are aiming at, no convergence, they ALL shoot where your pipper is pointing regardless of distance. When no target is present the other guns do not fire, just the main gun you are stationed at. I think that would be a better set up than anything else.

Chewix, I agree with you about the PT boat thing but I still think the 1K thing for convergance will only REALLY work if most planes STAY at 1K. Most of what I see is that the bogies come tearing it up at 400mph with WEP, and then slow down and try to match my speed at around 600D-300D or just make multiple passes without slowing down. And Lyric I know that but when I finally hit the ground or go to the hanger, I intend to do so out of ammo, as I will put as much lead in the air before I am killed or hit the ground in the unlikely event I even DAMAGE someone shooting me. If I damage someone then I have made someone's life even just a LITTLE bit easier.
