Hi R4ndy,

I speak Spanish, but my vocabulary is not technical enough to discuss air combat and also the specific terminology used in Aces High II.  However, there are a few Spanish-speaking players currently playing in the game; you will not be alone.

Most game-play communication is done in English, however.  You will have to work with this.  It is important because there is real-voice "radio" used in the game, and players can speak to each other, plan missions and coordinate fights together.  There is also text-based communication as well.

Here is a link to a Latin-American virtual air combat group that might help you: http://www.ecv56condor.com.ar/.  Perhaps they can help you get started more quickly.

Good luck,

Goto your clipboard Then...

Goto Options>>Controls

It will have a map of your key board and the controls that go with it,

From there you could translate it with an online translator.

R4ndy's request made me realize that I have never seen any Spanish translation of the game's common controls (I looked but found none), so I thought it would be helpful to give it a shot.

I can speak, read and (:uhoh) write Spanish, but I was raised in the US, so I'm a little rusty.  Anyway, I borrowed the Quick Reference guide and translated it as best I could into Spanish.  If I really mangled anything, my apologies to those who have to read through it!  :lol

Actually, I think it came out okay, but there may be a few grammatical errors here or there.  However, it should still be useful to a Spanish-speaker trying to figure out Aces High.  Use it and abuse it with my compliments.   :salute

The English/Spanish Reference sheet is in .PDF format, and you can download it here: http://www.musketeers.org/AHII_Eng_Span_Ref.pdf

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I've gone the extra step and created a companion to the reference sheet: a glossary of aeronautical terms and the argot of Aces High.

I had already translated many words for the reference sheet, so it was just logical to round it out and create an English/Spanish glossary.  It's fairly comprehensive, at about five pages , but even so, it can probably never be complete, since we add slang to the game all the time.  I've uploaded it to the Muskies' site here: http://www.musketeers.org/AHII_Eng_Span_Glossary.pdf.

I'll go ahead a create a separate thread announcing the locations of the two docs so they can be easily found in a search of forum.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.  I hope this gets more players in the air.

FWIW,  :salute

That's high praise indeed, TC.  Thank you, from all of the squaddies!  :salute

This was intended for general distribution to the community, so by all means, feel free to include on the trainers' site if you think it will help, TC.  I'd be honored.
