"Yesterday, I had a wingie for the first time in a looong time. Naturally we went about it 9./JG 54 style, which basically means going where there are too many red dots and too few green ones. We bounced a poor P-38, downing it and were then attacked by a high N1K and a high Spit. The N1K closed on me, but thanks to the fabulous new terrain, I dove behind a hill, broke hard left and down a canyon. And Hristo had taken another canyon with the Spit on his six so we sort a met up and a blew the Spit away. Later the N1K died.

In comes a hero 51. Dives for HO.

And then legs it. And legs it. And legs it. 50 miles, going across knight territory. Evetually we both have to refuel but we take off again, with the 51 now heading for friendlies. Legging it. Eventually, he gets into a lot of friendlies and because of an alt adv, does an immelman, gets himself d1.0 my 6 in a vertical dive, fires fires fires is outmaneuvered and...legs it.

Whats up with the xBAT is a "Hero" statement?
I replied that I dont fly the 51... nor have I in the last two tours. Perhaps I am misunderstanding your statement?

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Climb, get speed up, dive, shoot, run, climb, get speed up, dive, shoot, run...This is the only offensive ACM p51:s know and it works only for slow, or unaware targets.

When theyre in defending situation, it goes like this: Dive until 500mph, level 5 minutes, zoom, climb (continues to offensive).

Sadly, they act like stupid AI:s, when theyre at low alt, as they try to go defensive, but hit the ground! Sometimes in low alt situation they dont even respond to fire as they just do some lazy rolls and arcs. Ofcourse, theres might be some pilots that actually do something outside of that routine, but havent met any yet..  :D

After reading these two posts, all I can say is just fly the way you want and let others do the same. You wouldn't want YOUR tactics dictated by an enemy so why do it to them?

Sheesh this is a game, just have fun and don't worry about what the other guy does.  ;)

And no I wasn't involved in this. I haven't been in the MA for a while now other than a brief look see.

StSanta's text is taken from another thread.  XBat isn't discussing strategy, only wondering why his name was attatched to the scenario StSanta described.

What else would YOU do flying a Pony?  Would you break and turn?  I drool when I see a pony make a flat turn and bleed all his precious speed.  He's gonna be a dead pony soon enough, just a matter of which one of my mates will get him first!   :D

XBAT; I believe it was you we hunted around: at least it was you who commented about it a bit   :D. I might have mistaken you for another X_something and if that's the case I apologize.
