The thing I hate about Faceburk and MeMeMeSpace is that it negates the point of having friends in the first place. When I see my friends it's great to update each other on how life is going. Whats the point of even meeting your friends in real life if you are already 100% updated on their life via facebook. It's just another distraction keeping the flocks in their houses where they are not causing any trouble. Never will use social networks in that way.
Well I don't know about you, but me & I think most people meet up with there friends just to hang out with them and do things together, not just to talk about what they've been up to.

Facebook is the ultimate big brother. And it lured people to join it freewillingly.

I thought that title belongs to Google (especially when you're logged-in to gmail) :noid

Facebook suffers from gayness of the anus and I will never take part in it.

seriously phatzo if you knew what data could be mined out of people who use facebook you might change your mind. There's been evidence lately that some govt's keep an eye on facebook associations. Part of my job involves advising corporate/enterprise/govt users why they need to be careful in allowing access to social media sites and the implications.

They do mine data not just advertisers. Look at the CDC they can now trace flu outbreak from what people type in the google search engine. How does the CDC get the idea and then permission to use the data In the first place?

Facebook is great if you know how to use it and how NOT to use it. I have found many old friends that i had lost contact with and I can follow the lives of family living abroad and they can follow ours. Clue is to set filters, not post junk or tag people in pictures and use fake phone numbers and addresses
