BF4
« on: November 02, 2013, 12:01:58 PM »
What words describe it?

"Buggy", "problematic", a "systems/resources Hog", "magnificent", "the best maps Ive ever seen", " an astounding damage engine", "a new standard in graphics for a FPS".

Not a good flight game so Im surely not comparing it to AH. Aces High IS a flight game. BF4 is a FPS with a small arcade flight game addition. One wouldnt quit AH to buy BF4, they are just to dissimilar. If only BF4 had 1/2 the reliability of established games. Right now there are a lot of problems with it. For some its even unplayable.

But some of the graphics are just astounding.

and people complain about being "beta testers" here in ah...if only they knew the reality. $60 retail for an unfinished product.

let's see, ea/dice patch timeline should be...40 days or so for the first patch...90 days for the second patch...6 months for the third patch to fix the crap the previous patches didn't fix as well as the stuff the patches broke.  :rofl

From what I'm seeing it's getting positive reviews.  I'll probably snag a copy in the very near future if for no other reason than I took a 4 year break from all things FPS and feel it's time for a return.

I wouldnt call it "unplayable" on the PC as long as you have enough box for it. The only real problem Ive had is on the flood map where they truly push the boundaries of a PC graphics engine. Ive crashed a few times on that map with 64 players.

Reinstalling Punk Buster seems to have helped. I myself would give this game 9 out of 10 stars rating if the main bugs were fixed. Its the best multi-player FPS Ive ever played. It is a huge step up from BF3. The colors and destruction is on another level. That one map Paracel Storm? OMG look at the color of the ocean? Its epic.

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

When the game is over, the Kings and Pawns all go into the same box.

putting it away till the bugs are worked out, not enjoying being dropped in the middle of every other match and the randomness of hit boxes and sound dropping on a few maps. Beta was better than this.

Many are already fixed on the server end. I played all day yesterday without a problem. That Paracel Storm map is an experience Ive never found in gaming yet. The color of the ocean and the increasing violence of the storm is just Epic.

I got to say im very dissaponted in this game. The campain sucked ass. There was no true story line just jumped aroind allover the place. The only thing iv liked so far is the graphics. Most of the maps iv played. Teamdeathmatch. Are alot smaller. I have not tried anything else yet. Will be trying conquest tonight.

I'll get BF4 when it's $15 on Steam, not before that.

i knew i should have done that. Last night someone noted that a certain gun and suppressor combo would kill the sound for the person you killed. needless to say half the people started using that. Helen Keller mode was not cool.
