IFF colors

I wish AH had the option to not use IFF colors for ICONS.  Why?

First, it makes it needlessly hard to see the "state of the war" when viewing the clipboard.

Second, it fails its apparent purpose; it's still pitifully easy to pick say an enemy Knight out of a horde of enemy Bishops because of the ICON PICTURE.

Third, said ICON PICTURES cause the ICONs to take up more space than they need to.  This is somewhat irritating in a furbal with many airplanes, and downright annoying on the clipboard when the text often runs together.

Fourth, I simply like it better when each country has unique colors.

Now I have nothing against the AH ICON system; however I would like the option to assign each country a unique color and remove the ICON PICTURES.

Now I'm well aware that HTC made the game the way it is for a reason; however they've changed parts of AH in the past and I hope they'll at least consider altering this aspect of AH as well  :)

Well, there's another thing that I wish they'd change too (see sig for details) but I guess someone with _'s in their name must have abused HiTech as a child or something   :D

I personally favor different colors for each country as well. I don't find the icons very readable and especially on larger maps (pizza etc) different colors per country would go a long way into making the state of the war more apparent.

How was it in AW? CZ were green, BZ were red...AZ were? I can't remember, but I liked that somewhat better than the icons in AH.

AZ were blue.

CZ = Frogs (Green)
BZ = Bees (Red ... flew BZ)
AZ = Smurfs (Blue)

At least that is what we called them back in 1993/94.
