Have a questions about 1.11
« on: December 17, 2002, 03:25:27 AM »
I've got a question about the recent update.

Adjusted torque curves on all vehicles.

Does this include planes?  And what exactly does it mean?  Do the planes/ground vehicles  nowhave the proper torque modeled correctly?

I think it means the accelerations of vehicles.
As you know, big torque makes good acceleration in the real car.
Actually I feel every vehicle now accelerates well in this version.

OK, so it's only for ground vehicles then.  Since I don't fly a plane with torque, it made me wonder.

I wonder if that will help/hurt vehicles climb hills.

Hill climb rates seem to be better now.

Quite an understatement.  Now even the M8 can climb very steep hills (which it could not do at all before).  They have fixed the hill thing very well.

Try an M8 now, it drives entirely differently.   They dropped a hemi in that sucker - 0-60 times many times better.    Not tried it online yet, plan to do so tonight (note: with the new performance and AP ammo, M8 now possibly has a bit of an edge on the ostwind with HE ammo.   Look forward to testing this.)

Look out for one of these tonight :)

Be gentle...

The change to vehicle torque is in my opinion one of the best parts of the new version.  Vehicles no longer drive like an asthmatic go-cart pulling an anchor... sure is nice to actually use 4th gear on the M8 in situations other than downhill racing.
