no it's not wishful thinking - if terrorists wanted to have an effect on USA what more of effect could they have than playing a part in Bush losing his office.
I think there will be another attack and more after that - I mean it took nearly 30 years of terrorist attacks in the UK by Irish Nationalists before everyone agreed to a ceasefire and started talking to one another - the Ira btw never had more than a few 100 active members at any time.
I didn't think that at the time invading Iraq was the answer to terrorism and still don't - more money and more resources given to the intelligence community and asking why terrorism against the USA takes place is the answer.
Whatever happens the next election is going to be pretty interesting.
