I remember seeing it in the huge Cina Capre 70mm format after Star Wars.

What a big letdown. I was a kid of maybe 14, and thought it was gonna be another Star Wars experience...... was very wrong.

Then the TV series came out...... what a joke that was, yet was most expensive series to make I think ( at the time)

I, for one, am very impressed.  Very interesting production and twists of the original characters.  It exceed BY FAR my low expectations.  I really liked how it incorporated Navy terms (better to me than even Star Trek) and modified a few to fit a "space ship".  Could of been a hell of alot worse.  Loosen up gents.

Diablo's on target.  I just finished watching it and enjoyed it...at least enough to want to watch part two.  I loved the original show when I was in high school, then watched an episode last week for the first time in over twenty years.  Gawd, it screems "campy" now.  This new one has some interesting cinematography, and the story is an interesting change.  Still not exactly sure what the whole original war was about, or why the Cylons come back to destroy the colonies fourty years later.  I hope they develop that back-story a bit more.

Not as bad as I thought it would be, but still, I would have preferred to see some real Cylons and their original fighters.

I thought it was pretty good for a show on SciFi.

Going to watch it tommorrow night, I have nothing better to do and enjoy SciFi shows/movies anyway.

It was far better than I expected, as well.  Not terribly impressed with the female Cylon, and there wasn't much backround info except 'There was a Cylon war before, and --- oh damn, they're back from wherever they went, and just killed most of our fleet.'.

I'm looking forward to the next episode, and hope it will have more of the traditional-looking Cylons, the ones we saw for a few seconds in the first scene of the premiere.

Female Starbuck doesn't look to be a bad decision, either.

It was EXCELLENT.

I am looking forward to part 2.  All you naysayers who said you'd pass, SciFi channel is giving you a second chance to repent.  They will replay part 1 tomorrow immediately before part 2.

It's worth it.

I think you're talking about Buck Rogers. That Twiki thing wore some POS called Theopolis around his neck like a Mercedes hood ornament.
