Install myself, or pay for it?
« on: February 04, 2004, 09:31:51 PM »
My new Audiobahn speakers arrived today...but they look more complicated to install than I originally thought. They're 4X9s with remote tweeters, would cost me about $85 to have them installed at Tweeter or Best Buy...I THINK I could do it myself but I'm not 100% certain...any more ideas?

If not 100% certain you can do it, might be best to pay to have it installed.  Just make sure whoever installs it knows more about it than you do.:)

Where are you putting them? Mounting them will be a problem if there aren't pre-fabbed areas in the car for speakers, and then wiring them will be another problem if you are adding onto 4 speakers to get 6. Unless your head unit (CD player/radio) has connections for 2 additional speakers, then you are going to have to figure out a way to splice some connections without losing audio quality to the speakers on spliced lines. (Amp probably)

Running the wiring, if it needs to be run, is the easiest part.
