Neg on the sedation!  It'll turn your brain to mush and if they get the mixture wrong it could kill you.

I went with the local anesthetic and had all 4 done.  I was wide awake and well aware of what the dentist was doing.

bunch of wimps... :D

I had all four pulled at once, with locals only.  Hell, the dentist had three of them pulled before I even knew they were out.  The fourth one cracked and he had to drill/tap so he could put a screw into it to get what was left.

Next day I went to senior ball.

Seriously.  Its not a big deal, I bled like a stuck pig for about 6 hours which was the worst part....  Don't let these old farts scare ya....

Wait, i'm an old fart....

Go whole hog on the sedation.  Ask for everything they've got.

Had mine pulled two years ago, got local and all four out in about 15 minutes. I got some pain killers from the pharmicist and went home.

Word of warning: Take the gauze pads off before the bleeding is completely through, you do NOT want those to dry up on the wounds. Pain does not even begin to describe what you will be going through, but 3 percocets and 15 minutes later complete bliss does not do justice to what you would feel.

Other than that, I had no pain and was eating solid food two days later. Had the sutures removed 5 days later and that was that.

You might get lucky and the teeth will come out easy and the doctor will have gentle hands, or you might end up like me and have all kinds of messed up impacted teeth.  When I did it they also found two "supernumerary" teeth that they had to cut into the jawbone to get.  No way did I want to be awake for that crap.

Nothing like having your wisdom teeth pulled while in bootcamp by a dentist-in-training.

Wimps?

First off, Novacaine doesn't work on me.  I told the doctor this.

So I they put me on IV and put the gas on.  I was out within a second.

The pain was so great that I woke up in the middle of the operation.  I woke up through the IV **AND** the gas.

They doubled the IV drip rate and I was out within 30 seconds.  Meanwhile they continued to operate on me.

Afterwards I asked what they used for a local.  The bastards said novacaine.

Yeah I woke up briefly too.  I think I was a bigger specimen than they were used to.  Funny how pain doesn't matter if you can't remember it?  :)
