Pongo IS American, although just not in your minimalistic view.  He is a Canadian, which last time I check resides due North of the United States, which both lie on the continent of North America, therefore everyone that lives in Canada or the United States is an American, although not necesarrily a United States Citizen.  :aok

(yes I realize that Mexico, and the countries of central america are also american, as well as all the countries in South America)

What name would you use in describing a US citizen? The full name of the US is the United Sates of America and thus our citizens are known as Americans. No other country is known as America that I am aware of.

Canada is not part of the USA and it's citizens are not known as Americans.

When did I say you can't call US citizens Americans?  I just pointed out there can't be a exclusionary claim on the American moniker.

Munkii, you are certainly correct in the literal sense of the term.

Absolutely, the citizens of other countries on on the two american continents are Amercans.

I think that we can both agree though that most of the world uses the term "Americans" to refer to U.S. citizens.

But your constant bashing of my country I do not.
Nothing personal dude thats just the way i feel.

You like I live in a free country so you may voice your opinions as may I but I doubt you will ever hear me say anything about Canada (other than in a joke) that would be negetive.

Do all Americans agree with this presidents policies?
Hell no I agree with some and strongly disagree with others.
But I will let my voice be heard in the form of my vote in Nov.

Now I know I have siad some harsh things to you so I will say I regret doing so.

Give the guy a break. It takes alot to stand up and admit to lying, and spill it like that. Granted his posting record has been a disaster area so far, but when someone says "hey, Im sorry, I was an idiot, but can I have another chance" I think that guy has deserved a second chance.

So MrBlack, at least in my book, you are back at square 0 now.
