Here's a friend's .50:

I fired about 10 rounds through it... it was incredibly accurate.  I do believe the .50's to be one of the biggest wastes of money anyone into shooting can purchase.  $1-$3 just to fire a shot and the guns are way too expensive.

I'll stick to my .308 and 7mm STW.

LAWCobra tried to impress/intimidate/get a response by posting

I myself have never fired a 50cal but I am just 1k short of having the 7.500 needed to buy a windrunner 50cal.

Good news I will have it by the time the CON is here:aok

This proves my theory that no matter what the topic of the thread may be, it will always end up focusing on Mr. Black.

Amazing. Wacky. Exciting.

Recoil is a relative factor.  If you're sitting still and thinking about it, a .22 will hurt.

But if you are doing something with it you won't even notice.

Plus you can tell the guys in the video had never fired a real gun.  Most were leaning back on their heals.  They were all not holding the gun right.

And lastly, they had british accents, so that automatically qualifies them for pansies.

I'm far from an expert, bordering on ignorant of the subject, but don't military snipers use the .50??

Just curious of course.

Some but not all, I don't think. I'm pretty sure the .308 mag is still popular. .50s are generally used when engaging targets harder than human flesh--namely equipment and sometimes thin armor. I'd imagine that using the .50s all the time would be counterproductive as they're big, cumbersome and produce a huge muzzle flash(I think Mr. Black made a point of this earlier).
