I shoot 3 gun and IDPA weekly. Good clean fun if it's available in your area.
I've shot a fair bit with Ernest Langdon (
http://www.langdontactical.com/el.html), and he'll be doing instructing for our school (
http://www.thetrainingedge.ca). There are a pile of incredible shooters in IDPA, with a lot less BS than you'll find (at least I find) with IPSC type events.
As for IDPA being "fun", it's pretty much the most fun I've had in the shooting sports I've been involved with since I was 5 (25 years of pressing trigger now). Not only is it fun, it has at least SOME elements of real world tactics, unlike 99% of IPSC and other gun-games, save 3/4/5 gun probably.
IPDA highly recommended!!
