when people die because someone in clean office belive to do good things, its sad

even more sad, when they admit to be missinformed and they do not carry any responsibility.

death of every person, who die for ideas, belief of someone else is futile

Too bad the Steve and others have once again used his death to score points on a bulletin board.  You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Duty? His duty was to his family, to come home every night, not searching for adventure.

This is not WWII.

I recall that family is what Tillman said motivated him to drop his NFL career to join the Army - to be specific, he didn't see it as right to stay home and play football while his brother (already a Ranger) went to Afghanistan to fight.

Sounds to me more like a man seeking to do his duty as his family saw it than an adventurer.

Tillman's brother was already a Ranger, and slotted to go to Afghanistan after 9/11, when Tillman dropped out of the NFL to join the Army.

I'm saying it sounds more like him standing by his family than seeking adventure.

Ok, fair enough.

I don't see how he did anything but make it ultimately worse, but alright.

I imagine the way he saw it is that if he pitched the job could get done sooner and his brother would be at-risk for a lesser amount of time.

personally I have no problem with the war on terrorism, it's the Iraq invasion that I have a problem with (no matter how to tie the two together, Afghanistan is the war on terror,  Iraq still hasn't been tied to 9/11)  but even still the justness of the war is irrelevant when talking about the honor and heroism of the soldiers.

Also, Tillman didn't sign on during the Iraq invasion, he joined up before that when we where dealing with Afghanistan, where the people who attacked our country where supported and their leaders HQ'd.

IMO he didn't sign on for glory or a chance to kill some people, he signed on to serve his country and maybe help bring his brother home sooner.

no matter what Bush and his administration did to drag us into Iraq, we shouldn't let politics tarnish the honor of the men who did their duty.

Tillman was a hero.

Probably,  it started as with the second post and I let myself be sucked in as did a few others.
