you might want to look at a 57-58 300.

when I was younger I allways thought the 300's were butt ugly but now I see the lure they had for the older guys back then.

The thing is basicaly a merc 300 with a chrysler hemi in it..  The grill may be over the top but no worse than a 57-58 was and certainly no uglier than older mercedes were.

The chopped top reminds me of early barris mercury's.

So you don't like the government taking your money but you have no problem pissing away tax payers money on a gas guzzler.  You can thank all the manly men and hard working women for you being able to afford it.  I never took you for a closet commie.

No... the vehicle I drive to work is owned by the city and is an on call vehicle.   It is a Dodge truck and it saves them money for me to use it to respond to emergencies in.

my elky is my personal vehicle and is paid for by me.

From what I understand, Hybrid Technology is NOT getting the high mileage numbers they are claiming.  Around 25-32mpg.  Not those advertised numbers....

Here is the center of the debate:

Its the tale of a customer that is not very satisfied about his Hybrid Car's mileage and his quest to find out what is wrong...

PS.  Also a CBSNEWS article about it HERE

Lazs - "the 300 has a solenoid controlled valve mechanism that opens 8 valves to let the car run on 4 cyl. when not needed." That technology has been around for a while. Wasn't it GM that came up with the V8-6-4 engine concept for Cadillacs c1981? I bought a Toyota in 1988 which had a 2.0 litre 16 valve multiport engine, as all the Jap engines were by then. It worked the same way. The "secondary" valves functioned on demand. The exhaust sound was different when they did.

See laz,..I think the original 300 was a sweet looking ride.  Not as good looking as a chopped/dropped 54 Ford, but a good looking car.

I see the styling cues in this new one, but for a contemporary design, I think it is rather ugly and lacks the timeless looks of many classics.
I think they could have done better by the marque.

My dad bought one and it is due to be picked up this week. I think it is the nicest car Chrysler has come out with in years. Compare it to the POS New Yorker from 6 years ago.

However Chrysler has made some awesome trucks like the 2500 Cummins and I have owned 4 of them and watched them improve every version. They can design great vehicles (and really bad ones as well) and I think lately they are betting the farm on their new designs so they are not going to introduce anything that is crap.

I am sure the car will be a really nice ride.
