Your Aces High squad?
The Buccaneers.

Your name?

Your age?

Where do you live?
Woodland Park CO.  I am moving back to Colorado Springs soon, the 32 mile commute to work is killing me!

Where else have you lived?
Colorado Springs CO, Honolulu HI,  Anchorage AK, Wasilla AK, Houston AK, Fairbanks AK, Homer/Anchor Point AK, Juneau AK, Cordova AK (Birthplace)

What do you do for a living?
I am a first grade teacher in Colorado Springs at a high-risk school (Mark Twain Elemenary).  I have 26 wonderful students that are learning to read, write, add, subtract, etc.  Many of my students come from less than ideal surroundings, some have already experienced more grief and trama at age 6 than I have at 34.

What is your marital/family status?
Blissfully married for 4 years.  My wife and I have a perfect 5 month old baby girl.  Her name is Svea (pronounced Svay-Ah, long a - short u sounds).  Being a dad is absolutly the coolest thing ever!

What schools have you attended?  What degrees do you have?
Bachelor of Arts/Photography from the University of Anchorage AK, 1990.  Associate of Science/Fire Science from the University of Hawaii (HCC) 1995.  I am now about 90% finished with my Masters in Education from Regis University in Denver CO.

What are your hobbies?
AH junkie...Dang...I used to have a bunch of hobbies, but I have forgotten all about them ever since I started flying on-line!

What other flight sims have you been involved in? Your call sign and squad in that sim?
Warbirds, I started in spring of 97... I think?  eskimo of the Buccaneers.

Do you have any other connection to aviation or WWII?  My father-in-law flew stateside in WWII.  He trained gunners for the Army Air Corps.  He has time in the; AT-6, P-39, P-63, RP-63, AT-11, B-25, and B-17.  The RP-63 was a stripped, armor plated P-63 that was used as a manned flying target.  His job was to mock attack B-17's and receive friendly-fire!  The bullets were 30 cal. powdered lead/bakelite plastic, and would disintegrate on contact with the hardened aluminum armor plating on the RP-63.

I am involved with a pretty amazing living history group in Colorado Springs called "Fantasy Flight".  The two leaders of this group own a C-45/AT-11 and two AT-6's.  The members of Fantasy Flight maintain these old Warbirds and fly them to airshows throughout Colorado and other parts of the USA.  Each of the 30+ members own at least one authentic WWII Army Air Force uniform that is worn to these airshows.

Other interesting things about yourself.
I own a Batmobile.[/B]

Your Aces High call sign?  It's significance?
Well, my online handle had been "Sparrow" for some time. I named my account iSparrow for some reason when I signed on. When I got the "choose a callsign" part of signing up, I decided I didn't want Sparrow, so I put the I in front, and shortened Sparrow to spar, giving me "Ispar." I guess I thought it was clever.
[4/25/01] Ok, it turns out that "Ispar" is the name of a character in Asheron's Call, a massively-mulitplayer online rpg. WTF? Apparently it was around about a year before I created my name here. I want to make it clear that I had never heard of this before. So don't ask if that's where I got it. It was almost kind of embarassing when someone asked me which server I played on, and I had no idea what he was talking about.

Your Aces High squad?

Well, I'm not married. There's someone who's sort of like girlfriend, but... not   .

I currently attend the Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School (and Regional Teachers Center) in Devens, MA. Damn good school!

What degrees do you have?
Six degrees of freedom.

What are your hobbies?
Computers, flight sims, when I can I like to sail and rock climb.

What other flight sims have you been involved in? Your call sign and squad in that sim?
All offline sims. It's an impressive list really.

Do you have any other connection to aviation or WWII?
Yes, actually. My dad's father was in the army. Non combat, he had a deskjob of some sort. At least partly because he wore glasses I think. My mom's father was in the Marines (an airfield technician or something like that), and was on Okinawa. He's kind of bitter about the idiots who fired their guns in the air to celebrate the victory. Apparently a few people got hurt     .

Other interesting things about yourself.
I've been to North Carolina once...

Actually they where dropped in the mountains at Telemark, Norway to sabotage the heavy-water plant in Rukan(also Norway). They blew it up in a daring raid, and a few days afterwards blew up a ferry that transported the rest of the heavy-water.  This was one of the greatest acts of sabotage in WWII.  Most of the men involved in the group was Norwegians.  (Sweden or swedish people was not involved in this, as their country was "neutral" during the war).
The film is titeled "Heroes of Telemark".
