Never pays to run a red light

Ya know after watching that a couple of times I'm wondering if maybe the PT Cruiser didn't actually save the pedestrian. Would that SUV have run over him at full speed had it not been hit by the cruiser?
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

Reading the story it says that the dent created in the SUV by the PT cruiser may have actually saved the pedestrians life because when the SUV rolled over him he fit inside the big dent and avoided being crushed.

Amazing.

I can just imagine the PT driver's defence.

"I was approaching an intersection when I noticed a car travelling at high speed towards a jay-walker. It was then that I made the selfless and brilliant decision to manuever in such a way as to strategically place a dent in the oncoming vehicle inside which the pedestrian could safely pass under."

Don't be ridiculous, a driver has enough sense to not just run someone over....
