Your claims of reporting, taking action at all costs and all expense to avoid or recoup from a misdoing don`t hold beans. It just don`t happen. BTW, you are a pefect target for a good scam artist simply because you have the belief you can check backgrounds and facts on everything. A good scam artist could play you like a fine violin. This is the way things work in the real world. That`s the reason these folks can get by with it over and over again. The cost to recover losses over weigh the actual benefits and people are just not going , in the majority of cases, take more money out of their pocket to take the chance that these individuals will pay for their wrong doings. The system has loophole after loophole and these people know exactly where their line is to be safe.
Is OJ Simpson actualy guilty? Positively.
Was he found guilty in a court of law? Nope.
Was millions of dollars spent trying to bring him to justice and make him pay for his crime. Ya damn betcha.
Was these very prominent people involved in the loss of millions to bring him to justice scammed out of their money. Hell yes.
Does these same people use every opportunity to get in print and on TV, the outrage of this happening and to spread the word that a threat still exists anywhere this murderer is allowed to live, mingle, etc? Absolutely, and rightly so. If and when O.J. ever loses it again,( and I truly beleive this will happen), he has the perfect defense allready built in by folks such as yourself that believes every thing is peachy in Happy Town and cry foul saying the victims could have avoided it and they are responsible. Logic such as you have stated here is exactly what makes possible for the professinal criminal to continue to be just that. In other words my friend, you have allready been scammed by them into supporting the very thing that keeps them in the ballgame.
Your example of "there is travel agencies" used above is hilarious. Travel agencies are a legalized scam taking money from folks for a total uneeded service. They far and beyond make more screw ups, with no recourse to the customer, than the average person ever will dealing direct with the airlines of choice, etc. In other words , if you live by your above stated beliefs, you have not only been scammed big time, but you also are to the point of supporting the scammer.
I have never lived in a fictional world I live as a cynic I don’t believe anyone but close friends, I don’t buy things on Blind faith, I buy things on research , if that mean I will be scammed I would like to ask HOW? You are the one that seems to defend people buying things on blind faith rather than asking for proof of a product is the right thing to do.
You may be right, I may buy something that turns out to be bad, but you know what?? It will be my fault for not having it checked out first.

I was not at the oj trials and did not spend my ever waking moments watching it so I don’t know if he is guilty or not, I don’t have enough information to make the decision.
You are dead wrong about travel agents, They get paid to keep you happy, they survive on repeated business, and will normally cover cost of any problems that are made, Can you say the same about the airlines?, They also get paid because of the information they have and experience in the tourism interest, they have knowledge about good hotels and are paid for knowing as much as pliable,
Tell me are electricians, computer techs, builders or any other service people also scammers? You can do all those jobs cheaper your self
So you must support scammers as well.
Scammers get away with things Because of people Like U Ones that decied that bthey want to be the morality police, To tell everyone else how they should act but that will not take the moral responsibility to act on there ow, to file chargers, or to even take them to joe browns court.
