Whats with attacking GEDs straiga?  One of the best things in the USA is the endless opportunties of our educational system..

I dropped out of High School and got a GED. Without it and also the Comminity College system there is no way I could have eneded up in a great four year school and graduated this year with a business degree..

Thinking all celebrities are worldly and inciteful is just as idiotic as thinking none of them are.

Ahhh Grun and his "Personal attacks" line, I take it that's your favourite one lately. Seems we have a choice between being "Anty-amerikan" and "personaly attacking you" whenever we adress you. get a grip...please.

How much did the dixie chicks loose? They probably made more because of the advertising that followed. Hell, I thought Ronstad was long dead before I saw this post, I guess this will serve her as advertising as well.

xtoronto... you are correct.. I barely got through high school.   I don't really cook much so if you eat at my house you will get what you get or we can go to a resteraunt... In any case, I would be glad to have you and we can discuss whatever you like.   I am sure that in person you are a brighter than you appear to be on the BB (how could anyone not be?)  what with all your urbane canada'ness and fancy education and all...

Nash... no, I would not tear down posters but I would definetly boo her after she made statements that I disagreed with.   I could clap or boo... in her case, a boo was in order.   All celebreties take the same chance no matter what their views.

I am sure that it has not escaped most peoples notice that the largest condemnation of lierals is that they feel that because of their education and vies that they are elite... better than most.. They want socialism for the masses but feel that they will get better than that because they are elite.   It will not escape most that eventually the liberal posters lose it and their true feelings come out.

They love humanity but hate people.. That is why they love big cities where there is no personal human contact.  That is why they tend to hide in academics or journalism or entertainment where they are insulated from the world.

So, that means you will stop listening to "Music" you liked, because the one singing it has a different POV than you?

If I had to follow that line of thought I'd probably end up listening to Engelberd Humperdink (sp?) only.

rpm,

If I attend a concert that has been billed AS a concert I would prefer that it BE a concert...and not a political rally.  If I know what I am going to hear I can at least make a decision beforehand about whether or not I want to spend my money to hear it.

Ronstadt's audience paid their money to hear her perform her hit songs, not give an in-your-face speech supporting a controversial political figure.

You have not addressed the latter part of my original post, which states that Moore and Ronstadt's films and actions are widening the political divisions in this country.  That is beyond dispute, especially in Moore's case.  Many of the comments on these bulletin boards are more bitter and vitriolic because of Moore's films and statements.  Fahrenheit 9/11 is unique in film history, using cut-and-past snippets to level dubious charges against a sitting president, and distributed during an election year in the arrogant certainty that there was insufficient time for legal opposition to develop.

Conservatives, whether Democrats or Repupblicans, are not stupid.  They know full well what Moore and the rest of the Hollywood crowd are attempting to do, use their unfettered access to a sympathetic press to "sway the masses."  And so, the division of America continues.

Yeah, it not on purpose. its just a gag reflex.

When Clinton was president everytime he was on tv I changed the channel. I still turn off the dixie chicks and I dont watch movies with alec baldwin in them among many others.

Thats why they should keep thier politics where they belong.
America is divided along political lines.

Entertainers should entertain you, not piss you off imo.
