Why all of a sudden are icons now set to 6.0 instead of the "CT Normal" of 3.0? What is the CT Staff's reasoning behind the change?

AFAIK They've been that way since AH2 came out... I don't know off the top of my head how to change it.  I easily spent half an hour Sat morning trying to get them back to "CT Norm"  but couldn't get it.. I'll make some inquires it's possible I just didn't look in the right place.

Unless something has recently changed, and I don't think it has, there are presently only 2 icon settings available in AH. The dot commands are as follows:

.icon 1 and .icon 0

. icon 1 being 9000 feet (d3) and .icon 0 being 18000 feet (d6).

Wait!!! 9,000 yards and 18,000 yards? Ouch...let me go think for a minute!

Thats a positive ID at 9,000 yards = 5 miles for friendly?
..........................and 18,000 yards = 10 Miles for enemy?

Thats a bit much for both isnt it isnt it?

In the heat of battle werent guys shooting their own airplanes at much closer distinces?

Curtis,

Those should be in feet, not yards.

D3.0 is 3000 yards and D6.0 is 6000 yards.

yards, feet, kilometers, ya I always get those confused. Guess that explains my poor gunnery stats. ;)
