Whoa, wait a second now
...it's a geologically accurate extinct shield volcano with a caldera. I fashioned it after one in Maui, Hawaii (name escapes me right now) and it has roughly the same dimensions.
The actual AH beta terrain volcano structure is very large (something like 25 miles in diameter) and rises up from the relatively flat base that makes up the arena. The bowl shaped structure at the top is called the "caldera", which is formed after the first major eruption. The caldera also has cuts in its sides where the lava pored out to form the unnaturally shaped (I admit that
) lava fields (where the canyons are) that flow to the sea (and serve to seperate countries).
The smaller "volcano like" structure in the middle of the caldera is the main lava vent. It should go very deep in the Beta terrain (~7000 feet to almost sea level, and very quickly).

P.S. The sheep were already there when I built it...honest
