New sound event idea

I recently started playing again, and I noticed that debris seems to stay around a lot longer than in AHI (it may be my imagination, I dunno).  I was talking to a friend about how I nearly ran into my own plane fragment that was still fluttering to the ground twenty seconds after being shot off, and he commented on how it would be cool if you could run into pieces.  Even if you don't take damage from it, how cool would it be to blow someone's tail off and you'd hear the 'tink tink tink tinktinktink' sound of shrapnel bouncing off your wings.  I think it could really add to the immersion factor of combat.
