Just a note, "ace":  the next time some one gives you a salute, the idea is to give one in return, said thank you, or don't say anything.  It is a game and if you are so sensitive that you can't take getting shot down, then maybe you need to find something else to do.  As it is, your behavior represents everything that is bad in MA right now.  Grow up and keep your lewd, vulgar comments to yourself.

Other than that, how was the MA tonight?

Maybe its just me.. but has always been shorthand for "good fight", "good flying" whatever.

Winning an 8 on 2 isn't a fight.  The "fight" lasted about oh what?  30 seconds after you all dove in?

Keep your faux to yourself, and I guess keep pretending I give a **** what you think.

As far as "my behaviour representing everything that is bad about the MA" ... see this thread, horde-monkey.

I think it illustrates your behaviour quite nicely.

Oh yea.. and if your ego is so sensitive that being called a gangbanging loser who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag makes you cry... perhaps you oughtn't tune to ch 200, eh?

Sorry bout that collision with your Hurri II tonite Urchin.  For whatever reason you can still fly a Spit V home with half a wing and a prayer :)

Had to belly it in, but got down ok.

Thank you for illustrating my point.  You have once again sunk to the occasion.

From my end, it was me and my squaddie turning on you and your wingie.  We had specificly gone this route to try and avoid being part of a horde.  I saw one other Knight come in, but saw no one else near the two of you (there were other Knights in the area, but they were otherwise pre-occupied).  The two of you split to try and pull us into a disadvantageous situation, but it failed to do so.  I went up after missing my first shot on you and my wingie shot up your wingman.  Still, I only saw one other Knight in the immediate area at the time.  I came down on you and shot you up taking off part of your left wing,  I followed you down and around and finished you off.  Still, me and my wingie were the only people engaging you at the time.

The salute was genuine as you and your wingie I believe had engaged me and my squaddie, Jasta, a few minutes before.  One of you shot him down and the other put a ton of .50 cals into me.  I disengaged.  Almost forgot to mention that when you two engaged us, there was a 109 and a Spitfire XIV from your side there, and they were actively part of the fight.  If anyone was "ganged" it was my wingie and I yet you never saw us pitch a fit and cry across channel 200.

A man and a person of character would admit when they are wrong.  It is sad to see that you are neither a man nor a person think or not.  My comments are in spite of your feelings on the subject.  You were out of line, you know it, and you are too small of person to deal with it.

Learn to take people at face value and when you get a salute, be gracious.

My squaddie made a film so I will review it and if there were eight others in the fight, as you say, I will acknowledge it.  Would not have changed anything as far as I was concerned either in the attack as it was carried out or the salute offered after it.  Since I have regarded you as a good pilot and considering how well you and your wingie had flown in the previous engagement, I was trying to acknowledge that with the salute after the second fight.

So much for civility.

Its just a game and sometimes people don't like losing and sometimes people don't like getting respect returned.

Blammo, there are sooo many other pilots out there that would return your salutes, and Urchin, there are many other situations(ie better mood, even odds, etc) that would earn a return salute.

When I lose a game of tetris at a high level, I don't salute it, I drop kick my NES out the window.

Just to chime in... no matter what you think of a simple fight, it doesn't justify your comments to blammo.

Urchin you and Mane are two fantastic pilots. Together with Hammy, Redd and AKAK you are the best Ive ever fought (doesnt say much since Im new but still) in this game.

Though its such a shame both of you have such an arrogant attitude. How you are directly rude and disencouraging to a new player.

I go up against the enemy in a veriaty of situations inorder to get better. The veriaty includes outnumbered defense, lone patrols, outnumbered attacks, attacks with number advnatage and even number battles. I spend alot of time checking the map to find a veriaty of different situations and usually try to get at least 2 or 3 different types of battle in for each game session I have.

I know I aint much of a pilot yet. But my goal and determination is to become a top pilot who can go up against anything the game throws at me.

What makes me quite upset is when guys like you and your friend Mane after a battle where you did a fantastic job call the enemy all sorts of names and laugh at ones flight skills with comments such as "hahahahaha what you call that manouver a turn?".

Your a damn great pilot and you can own in a quite big number disadvnatage but you know what your no Ace sir.

What distinguishes an Ace is that an Ace is a gentleman who is humble in both victory and defeat. A gentleman who lets his skills shine and doesnt need to show of his skills by talking about them.

While I have ALOT to learn as a pilot you sir have alot to learn as a person.

Tex

Just finished reviewing the film:

7 Knights in the area when the engagement started, 5 rooks.  Three of the Rooks had alt advantage on everyone.  I knight was heading away from the fight and never turned to engage.

By the time I took your wing off, the situation was 9 Knights and 7 rooks in the area.  There were never more than 4 knights close enough that I could see to engage you and Mane.  Only three Knights ever had a shot on you two (Jasta, Buba and myself).

By studying the film you and Mane turned into a worse situation than if you had kept going straight or turned to the left.  You flew towards more incoming Knights rather than away from the threat.  Regardless, your flying was great and had Jasta not done in Mane, he was set to hit me.  As it was, he did get him and I was able to come over and shoot you.  No one else hit you or Mane aside from me and Jasta.

Point is this: earlier in the day I was outnumber 7 to one at A5 on the deck.  I had no friendly air support, no wingie, no flack or ACK to help.  I fought as long and as hard as I could, but eventually they got me.  My first though, as frustrated as I was, was not to curse the other person and bad mouth them and go into a state of denial and shock that someone could actually shoot me down.  No, the first thing I did was take a breath, then I looked around the field to decide what my next action would be.  You did well, but we did better this time.  The was genuine.  It may have been only 30 seconds, but it was a tough 30 for me because I knew if I did not get you that you would get me.  I think Jasta knew the same thing.

Anyway, the film tells me all I need to know.  I'd share it with you, but what do you care...after all, we are just gang-banging horde monkeys and no threat to your imperial greatness anyway.

By the way:  I shot you down.  Not bad for someone that can't fight their way out of a paper bag.

Cheers

".. can't fight their way out of a paper bag"

I prefer "... of a wet paper bag".
