Do you have the latest video drivers? What version of Dirext X are you using?
Failing that, I would try un-installing AH and re-installing it from scratch. Also be sure you choose a lower resolution resolution and color depth if you are not sure what your card can handle. I don't know that card off the top of my head, but you should be safe at 800x600 16 bit color for sure.
