The films I've posted (cept 38) have been primarily "defend & kill" type stuff...starting with a reversal of some sort. The logic behind that was baced on the questions I often got as a trainer...i.e. I'm ok till someone gets close on my 6 then I always die...
The flip side of that is the "when I have the advantage the good pilots always kill me anyway?" question. I took a break from my imbecility in the 38 and flew a couple in my current sweetheart (Ki-61). This clip is me bouncing a spitty....
1st thing is avoid the "dumb" shot on the reverse....establish and hold the high ground...then work for a decent shot....note the "over under" nature of the fight...I'm never under the con unless I'm in good position for a shot...
2nd once I got my shot (and pretty much blew it) I didnt "chase it" simply converted back to E fighting and reestablished the high ground....now in a mediocre performer like the Ki this can be a close thing...often the spitty is ~400-800 on my 6 but without the E to prosocute an attack...again set up my shot and blow it (decent gunnery DOES help:))...this time I feel like I've sucked enough E out of him that I saddle up and hang on...had I done that the 1st time I'd of been toast.
