I belive it was in Thailand that the goverment _promised_ that no foreigners would be burried. They would only burry the locals

I just don't think that's practical.  The health concerns demand that all bodies are buried.  Disease knows no nationality, and the public good requires good hygiene.

Most bodies will be stacked in coldcontainers, 130 in each. 30  containers already in place, 20 coming from Australia and about 30 is on route from Sweden by plane.

A cold cargoship is also been chartered from Singapore, but it can not find any deep enough harbour close by.

Anyway, it will take months to go through this amount of dead people.

I just received some positive news from a good friend who moved to Thailand a few years ago. He was in Bangkok and well out of danger. He had two friends down by the ocean. One made it out ok and the other is missing. He does note that communications, even in Bangkok, is spotty.

Continued best wishes Chairboy. Keep up hope.

Good luck chair-boy!

I'll pray yet again...

He was staying at the Khaolak Orchid,

Khao Lak was one of the worst spots hit. They reckon theres a few thousand bodies there still waiting to be identified taken care of. We're starting to see "missing" Kiwis appear from there however with amazing survival stories.

So if hes still alive hes in one of the least reachable spots. Most of the people we're seeing from that area are women, with guys staying on to help.

this is terrible.

its bad enough when its all strangers on the news. to see ones own family (or not to see even) must be a living hell.

im not religeous, so i cant pray for you.

i can send out possitive energy from my heart to the millions affected by this disaster.

truly sorry chairboy.

really brings it home when someone we know is affected by something so distant to our sheltered, ignorant lives....

Yikes...my heart sank when I saw the title of this thread.  My family and I will be pulling for a miraculous outcome, Chairboy.  I wish I could say something more useful at the moment.

:( :( :(

Please keep up the updates.
