I cant stop laugh. If i will think about iraq, whitch were repoted to be full of WMD and there were nothing. No we have NK, whitch simply say..... Fu, we have them and we will enjoy them..... Where the hell are all those allmighty guys from CIA ? There were not any single warning that NK could develop Nukes last year (or sooner) from CIA. Only NK said that they have them. Instead of reports from NK, CIA reported pink elephants in Iraq, golden ants in Nigeria and pink panther in Iran. How can you actualy keep listen those super cool/secret informations, from "reliable" sources ?
See now NK is a classic example of why we were right to go into Iraq.
I have long said I was for the operation in Iraq and would have been for it if they had said we were going in "Because its Tuesday".
My feeling has always been Saddam was a threat to our. and the worlds national interests. And a final showdown with him was inevitable no matter what way you slice it.
Even if he didn't currently have WMDs he was certainly hell-bent for getting Nukes. And it was only a matter of time before he got them. Sanctions or no sanctions (which as it turns out were starting to fall apart anyway).
Now lets say we didn't go in. Doesn't take a Nostradamus to predict what would have happened. Sanctions eventually fall completely apart. Saddam reinvigorates his WMD programs and eventually gets a nuclear capability.
Saddam Being Saddam re invades Kuwait only this time he has nukes to back him up. Thus giving him the capability to blackmail and hold hostage the entire region.
THEN what do we do?
So do we attack him after he gets nukes?
Unlike Scud missiles you dont have to be dead balls accurate when you launch a nuke a near miss works just as well and unlike the rest of the world Saddam has shown and proved he had no ethical problems at all in using whatever WMDs he had at his disposal first.
So even with the hindsight of him not having wmds now. Which every country in the worlds intel agencies said he had and not just the CIA.
I still think we were right to go in now rather then later.
Every country we try to keep from getting nukes ends up getting them anyway. India, Pakistan, And now NK are good examples.
So far in two years we've lost what, 1500 people in Iraq.
While each loss of life is terrible that number is damn near miraculously small after two years as far as wars go.
And certainly a whole lot smaller then if we waited till after he had nukes.
Personally I'm far more in favor of going to war with a country before it gets a nuclear capability then after it already has one.
