Go-229 flying wing never went into production. Only a few prototypes were captured.

Hell of a perk though! =)

Wouldnt the 32k ceiling on a B29 make it non perky here?

KG76 was outfitted with the AR-234 from July 1944 to the end of the war. First use was on Aug 2nd, 1944. "Total construction of the Arado Ar 234 amounted to 274 aircraft, of which 30 were prototypes and 244 production
aircraft." What's your point, I know you're trolling for something.

If it is to be a perk bomber I believe we'll get the B29. I'd love to give them the benefit of the doubt and get a Ar-234, but I just don't think so. A-26 is on the borderline of being perked I think.

PS to Westy: I got a production figure of the Ar-234B of 210. Besides this 50 prototypes and preproduction models and 14 Ar234C's.

Pongo,

Maybe...

But the 350mph speed and 20,000lbs of bombs would definately cause it to be perked.

Think about what a pain it is to climb up to, and chase down, a 25,000ft B-17 or Lanc that can only do 280mph.  Then think about that 350mph.

LOL Suave1!

That would have been an excellent perk bomber for Dawn of Aces

What ever the 'perked' buff is.. it'll be fun.

For me; all I want is an A26.. hard nose.

Didn't Pyro mention a Ju388 way back when as one of his favorites?  One of the variants had a bomb load capacity of over 6000lbs and the L1 model could achieve 383mph at 40,000ft.  A high altitude bomber for sure.  This size bomb load coupled with high altitude performance should be good for a perk bomber.  The B29 seems like overkill and would probably require a long runway.  Yep-the Ju388 would be just right.

I would hope for a Ar234, just for something real different. Not sure of it's usefulness because of it's realitive light bomb load, and defensive armament. And at real speed the ability to bomb accurately could be questionable.
According to the book "german a/c of ww2" ISBN 1-85605-357-1 by David Donald, the Arado test pilot Selle had nothing but praise for the a/c. It even states when clean the Ar-234 was fully aerobatic.

Otherwise a A-20B/G could be interesting, but a B-29 would mostly be a rather large lumbering large target, unless at altitude.
But I as well would be surprised if it wasn't the next bomber.

If we end up with either an Ar-234 or B-29 they better stretch the runway or you'll never get it off the ground. Right now a loaded Lanc can't get off the ground within the runway length, and they haven't fixed this yet. Hopefully they'll fudge the slow-speed acceleration and let us use only the runway to get airborne.

Well that and I think the caretaker is tired of me stealing his work by mowing the lawn with that Lanc.

I would like to see Ju 388! But I think it did not see any action during WWII so maybe it's not the best and most obvious choice. Ju 188 would be nice too but it did not have any qualities that justifies perking.

Ar 234 or B-29 are my bets, personal preference going to Ar. Well, what did you expect?
