Great fight.

But ya know, this is not how they did it in real life. Full flaps, gear out, throttled way back, etc...

I wonder if it's the simulations physics or the thousands of hours of combat experience that encourage fights like this?

I blame the beer!!!

lol

Wadke owned my 51 in his F6 and man I'll tell ya he can fly it.

So i had to retire the 51 for the evning and play in his birdy.
I was pulling, as levi has put it, "kungfu out of my arse" to try and stay alive! lol.

That was without a doubt the longest fight i've ever had and ranks at the top as being the best or closest type of fight like that.

Excesive drinking aside, wadke was giving me more than just a run for my money.

I didnt even realize I wasnt using all my guns until after the fight and I looked at the film. lol

Wax... Picture me 6 or so deap into the case, with my face no more than 2 inches away from the screen dodging wadke's bullets. :D :lol

Some of the shots you think can be made in the wmv film really weren't posible at 80mph.  The ahf film is much beter to show speeds and what not.

WOW!

I got exhausted just watching that.  It was a tremendous fight on both sides.  I kept thinking "Yeah, I'd have been ded there...oh yeah, I would have been owned."

Beautiful.  A real pleasure to watch!

Morph, Wadke seemed to own the flyin and E, (granted in his "bird") but that is the way you do it!  Eventually, you got your shots and took advantage of them.  That was a good one!  Nice job to the both of you!  :aok

I've figured  that the biggest factor keeping this type of fight out of real life are the other planes. These types of fights don't often happen in the MA let alone real life on account of the pickers.

There are real life maneuvers built around getting a little slow. I saw a great documentry on the wings channel a year or so ago where a Phantom pilot was describing his dogfight with a Mig (I think the phantom pilot was Randy "Duke" Cunningham, after searching google a bit. But I'm not entierly sure), where they went into a verticle scissors, and the American pilot won the fight with a throttle cut.

There were also two scenes in Top Gun depicting overshoot fighting. When Tom Cruise left his wingman to chase down his instructor the instructor used a high barrel roll which Tom followed in lag to stay back. There was also the more memorable scene in the end with the throttle cut while pulling vert.

Anyway, meh.
