Just an opinon. While not the best in any one category, it is good in almost all. It has great climb, excellent endurance (with the drop tank) solid gun package, deceptive turning capability at medium speeds (ie. slashing) solid WEP, and can do alright in a quick stall fight if needed. I have just recently been flying the bird and am really liking it.

Just curious what everyone else thinks or what plane you would put up here....

I really like it for Jabo type missions.

I am not a very good dogfighter but I like to take it high and swoop in with the big bomb.

It seems good as a BnZ fighter with the big cannons.

The 109F is a good plane, but there isn't anything I can do in it that I can't do better in a 38. I used to fly it back when the perk limiter was on full and the high ENY PJ wasn't in the game.

But it's definitely up near the top of the list for medium speed TnBers. Fast enough to BnZ and reverse, but agile enough to out turn the real speeders like the 51, dora, typh, and yak.

I have doubts about the "solid gun package". I think it's firepower is somewhat weak compared to most. But would agree with you that overall, it's a very good plane.

Base gun package is not that good....I meant with the gondolas. Sorry about that. I haven't spent too much time in the 38, but would like to learn how to fly that better.

Imho the most underrated plane in the set is P47 D25.

It is sooo much more manouverable then anyone expects it to be. You can E fight with the best of em and no one expects you to E fight. Everyone expects a BnZ nothing more.

i agree that the 109F is much better than expected.

IMO the 47D25 is trash compared to D11 or D40

but the MOST underated plane is the P40E.

a well flown P40E beats anything in an equal fight apart from zekes, hurricanes and spits.

even the spit mk9 will have a hard time killing a well flown 40E.

I personally would never be caught dead in a 109F
