Well, you are using a 4-4-2. Thats going to use the halfs supporting the deffence with only 1 of them moving forward once in a while to help the strikers. So, not 8 deffenders, but midfielders acting as deffenders.

it could be: -

Defensive midfielder centre: Vieira
Attacking midfielder centre: Lampard
Left wing: Ronaldinho
Right wing: Gerrard

what you expect? 2-3-5?!!
