I'm gonna pick one up this weekend. I had the 2nd gen 20 gig but missplaced it somewhere. Ya don't need that much space anyways...

Yeah, I can't wait.

why get the ipod? get the pocket dj. it isn't as small but it is cheaper. the DJs hold more songs also and weay cheaper then ipods and you don't need to use crappy itunes.

Yep, I instantly knew I was getting one as soon as I saw it.

I only wish I could be able to buy the gun version of the ipod nano too:

I almost purchased it last week of the web site, but I'd like to wait a bit and see what comes around early next year when I upgrade my mobile phone.

This is the latest/greatest in MP3 phones. I think.

Well that sucks.  It uses Transflash memory.  Maybe the Nano is in my future.  It was probably too much to hope that they could integrate an MP3 player into a phone and have it not totally suck.  Maybe my problem is that I'm looking for a cool MP3 player with a basic mobile GSM phone built in, and not the other way around.

Well... don't take my word for it. That seemed the best that I know of. There may be better. And there may be better by the time you need to replace your old phone.

But... Ultimately it's gotta go there. An MP3 player in one pocket and a cell phone in another? Nah. Too much to schlep. One day there's gonna be a single device that does all these things well, including porn.

Damnit, Nash, now I'm never gonna be able to get what I want.  I hadn't even thought of porn integrated into the device (though I do have my own WAP page with dirty pictures on it), but that is inspired.  My ring tone could be that unmistakable sound of... well, maybe I should stop there, lest the MPs smell blood in the water.  (woof, woof!) :D

I am weak though, so I may just end up with a 4GB Nano soon.  "How Do You Afford Your... Rock & Roll Lifestyle?".  It just fits.  :)

The ROKR is a joke of a deadend: 100-song limit, regardless of memory. the clickwheel thingy (aka the ipod interface) is gone; Cellphone battery life; no, you have to buy your ringtones separately -- you can't use any music you download for that;
So buy your nano or a decent mp3 player, and keep your phone separate.

Or, if you must, buy someone else's phone mp3 player. they've been around for a while and aren't intentionally crippled like the ROKR.

Yup... never been so disapointed with the release of an "apple" product in years. I was waiting for this cause im in the market for a new phone, but the rokr is just plain retarded. Gonna get myself one of the announced Nokia phones instead.

I had the Samsung P735 for a while, but that had its own issues.  Not worth the price I paid, even being a T-Mobile employee at the time.  Fortunately, I was able to sell it on ePay for slightly more than I paid for it. :)
