teh pwnage.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

I think it's safe to say that those 3 Corsairs made the mistake of fighting the Ki84s fight.

Nothing wrong with what Wilbus did, that's for sure.  The mistakes were on the part of the F4Us.

Wil,

He whined like that shot was a HO? Maybe I could understand a whine about a guy who tries to HO you at 1000 yards on merge, maybe, but damn that a close in knifefite and you just got on top and shot him  in  top 3/4 angle.

You gotta be kidding or he must be a tard.

good video, I love the ki84 in 1 vs multi and exactly for that reason, it dominates in the close vertical, a true dream for 109 pilots

Yes Grunherz, it is a dream for 109 pilots. It really exells in the vertical! :)

I concur with Guppy....

When I watched the film, at the time that Wilbuz fired, FTDeep had a speed around 69 mph and Wilbuz had a great line upon the overhead planform of the F4U...

This is certainly a well executed kill.

This film is certainly going into the Green Mountain Boys training films folder of what not to do against well flown Ki-84's.

But, actually....this film shows what F4U's should not do against any enemy opposition....don't get slow....

A slow F4u can be an awesome foe...however...what is evidenced in this film does not reflect this capability....rather...it starkly shows what happens to an F4U that is flying  reactively to an opponent rather than flying proactively.
