I note the following RL lancaster loadouts (could some one confirm it)
Quote

1. 1X 8000lb HE plus 6X 500lb HE bombs

2. 14X 1000lb HE

Blast, demolition, & fire

3. 1X 4000lv HE plus 3X 1000lb HE plus up to 6 SBC's (small bomb containers) each holding either 236X 4lb or 24X 30lb incendiaries

4. 1X 4000lb HE plus up to 12 SBCs

Maximum incendiary

5. 14 SBCs

Deployed Tactical targets

6. 1X 4000lb HE plus up to 18, 500lb HE

Low-level attacks

7. 6X 1000lb HE with delayed action fuses

Could we model this in some way.............

8000lb double cookie

Incendiaries slowly burning towns

2000lb AP for ships

Ships requiring AP!!! or very higher amounts of HE!!

12k cookie would be more fun, have a C:WR of about 80% i think so it would be devastating.  I am not sure if C:WR is modelled in AH atm?

Thanks Furball.........

There we go then.. (did not see a 12k cookie tho)

I have wished for a perked lanc for the tallboy before...........3 of those should kill half an airfield IMO.

Only 50 or so grand slams dropped tho right?

Yeah, something like 50 were dropped.

They dropped more 12k tallboy's, something like 1,000 of them

The 12k high capacity "blockbuster" (used because it could destroy a complete city block) bomb was essentially 3 x 4k bomb compartments bolted together.

Here is a 12k bomb next to a 4k

especially like the german drawings, must have been a shock to see those bouncing bombs have such an effect on the dams.

Its scanned from the book:

The Avro Lancaster
A Comprehensive Guide for the Modeler
Lincoln and Manchestor
By Richard A. Franks
ISBN: 0-9533465-3-6
SAM Publications

As the title suggests its a book for modelers and contains many 3 view line drawings, cockpit layouts illustrations and photos, crew positions etc.

There is also a complete list of all Lancasters (foreign and civilian versions), Lincolns and Manchesters built. As well as squadron listings, variant tech info etc...

As well as:

There's also line drawings of the various bombs.
