I've seen M-1's and Thompsons for sale everywhere for about $1,500 for a working one but I've yet to see a BAR for sale...anyone ever seen one offered and if so where and for how much?

I mean the name BAR means Browning Automatic Rifle doesn't it?

Automatic actually means that its self loading, like automatic pistols. Its a common mistake.

Well I like guns, would like to own a few, but I'm NO expert thats for sure.

Get yourself a Garand.  They still have some decent ones left at CMP (not for long though).  It's much easier being in the military / a vet to get a gun through CMP then if you were never in.
