Unoffical training thread
« on: October 05, 2005, 11:30:10 AM »
I have a hard time scheduling everyone via e mail so I am posting here to try to get all the ducks in a row.  All requests and scheduling for my training sessions can be posted here.

Last time I did training it quickly got out of hand and was a bit unorganized so Hopefully things will go better this time around.

I also wanted to post some of my requirements for training and also what I will commit to the trainees.

What I expect....

All training sessions will be conducted using the Spit mkV.  Thats what I fly and what I teach in.  You will find that the things you learn in this aircraft will easly transfer over to any other aircraft.  With few exceptions.

Bring a good attitude.  If you are just wanting to "Duel" to kick my arsse then just get with me for some duels not training.  If you have a "Chip" on your shoulder then we wont be training for long.

I do not teach Boom and Zoom tactics.  Be ready to knife fight when you arrive.

You should have a basic knowelege of dueling practices.  They can be found here...http://www.flightladder.com//rules.php?ladderid=3#rule20

Dont go AFK for long periods of time.  I will not wait around for you.  Quick breaks are no prob.  Long ones are.

Things to keep in mind.....

I advise you to film all of the session.  It will be valuable to review later on.

Sometimes personalitys just dont "Click"  If we are not getting on well then I probably wont schedule more sessions with you.  Dont take this personal.... its not personal.

I will be able to help some players more than others.  It depends on you natural ability......your attitude..... and how far along your skills already are.  The better you are the less I can most likley do for you.

I am willing to commit at least 1 hour of my time to each training session.  I will not commit to more that 1 session per night.

Be prepaired to get shot down alot.  Its part of the learning process.

If you disagree with what I am trying to teach thats fine.  Just speak up.

Anytime during the training sessions that you can shot me down please do.  It helps me to improve and also is fun for you.

I guess thats all.  I have Edbert scheduled for 9:30pm est time tonight.

What time works for you tomorrow DmdMax?

Please feel free to post any other requests.

c yas up.... Dave

One other thing I should add is that sessions may be cancled due to a variety of reasons.

I have two young boys...... I dont think I need to explain this.

I suffer from migrane headaches.  They are intermintent and unpredictable.  I cant fly when I have one.

ISP outages of course can occur anytime.

Any cancelations will be posted in this thread so if im not there on time check here.

Nomak,

I understand your availability may change,  and I know that you're booked in pretty well right now. I am in no hurry, but I would like to get "in line" before the gate gets closed. I learn best from the analytic, element by element approach for which you've been praised.

I'm flexible -- EST evenings on workdays, and can work around most weekends.

Edbert..... I am convinced that you have a Stick/Setup issue.  I was in the DA with Wadke later on last night and I mentioned it to him and he said he noticed the same thing.

Just my opinion but if you have another known good stick at your disposal I would try it.  Or even mabye pick up a $30 Saitek stick to try for comparison.
