To those that want to discredit the BBC in this case.
LOL, wait a minute. You're a reporter for _________ ( <-- fill in the blank ) news organization and you're telling me that you would not report a direct quote from a known source???!!!
You may not like what your source is telling you, but I do believe that your job is not to withhold that quote. It would be up to your boss if the report gets distributed or not (in the case of national security or possible lives at risk if the report gets out. etc.).
If you've got proof that President Bush did not actually say those things, then post it. It's gotta be more than a hunch to disprove something. You can discredit the source if it's been proven he has a habit of embellishing the truth and outright lying in the past. To discredit the BBC just because you don't agree with the story is, well......
