I hadn't even noticed that shoe! Thanks for pointing that out.

Yesterday our team won its first playoff game of the post season, however we gave up 6 points (32-6 final) so that was the first points we've given up all year in our conference games (6 conference games).  Next weekend is the Conference championship (equivelent of NFC or AFC conference championship). If we win there, we on our way to the Puget Sound championship the following week-end! Wooo hoo! Go Roughriders!
(warning-proud father moment below)
My son scored two touchdowns! :) two very bad pics below (one TD was on the opposite side of the field from me)

Wow. Nice shots everybody.

Here are my favorites from this fall.

A) believe it or not, this one is a natural light shot. The wide angle (~(20mm X 1.6 = 32mm) was necessary both to catch enough light, and to get the all the participants in the frame. I particularly like the way the shaft of sunlight catches the "wide receiver"'s hair:

Edited -- See rule #7.

B) Later on, I broke out the flash, and settled in for some macro action. I'm particularly proud of how I framed this shot:

Edited -- See rule #7.

C) As time wore on, fatigue set in, I thought this shot, in the soft light of a setting september sun, really captured the moment.

Edited -- See rule #7.

D) Oh, yeah, and of course, I figured Ripsnort would like this one:

Edited -- See rules #7 and #15.

This one is classic.  Is that astroturf they're playing on?

Gofaster, its astro turf..newer stuff though, pretty spongey (I know, I spend the whole game on my knees shooting)

The better stuff is called "Grassy turf" which has the ground-up rubber in the fiberous artificial grass.

Only 2 injuries this year, a broken hand and broken finger.

Only 1 of our games is played on natural grass ( in Enumclaw ) during our season...to bad as mud, rain and football mix well for some good shots.

That kid you posted (43) and number 24 are our MVP's this year, no doubt. Naturals.

lol, hawkore. ;)
