Zoom in on clipboard maps
« on: March 12, 2006, 01:13:27 PM »
I'd like to be able to use the PgUp and PgDwn keys to zoom in and out of the clipboard maps (the maps that show where parts of a strat, field, port, etc, are located).

To add something to that;

How about an option to show all required lbs' of bombs needed to destroy the 'targets' shown?

Because that can be changed whenever needed, that is my guess.

Sounds good.  It could be set to change as the settings are changed, if they ever are.

HTC/Aces High II/maps folder: Just edit the .bmp files and add all the info to the pic ;).

Well, yeah, you could do that if you knew how.  Wouldn't it be nicer if it was already there?

Start/all programs/accessories/Paint

Load the desired BMP  from "Program Files/HTC/Aces High II/Maps" folder  in paint
Zoom in to the portion you want
Use the add text feature to the approperiate locations
Name the file  and save it to your maps folder.

Badabing your done

Easy as cake
Peice of pie;)

Personally I have an edited picture of Marilyn Chambers in my map folder I use on my runs to enemy HQ to help me find the targets.

Havent managed to hit an enemy HQ yet, But it sure has been fun trying to get there:D

Okay, you can't edit the bmp because these values CHANGE based upon variables in AH. The arena has settings that allow hardness and "lbs required" to be adjusted at will.

This is evident by the HQ hardness, which has gone up several times.

So editing a bmp won't work, because the bmp wouldn't change, but the values would.

I think what they're asking for is text that the program overlays over the bmp, and the text would be updated for whatever arena settings are in effect.

The problem is that the bitmaps are just images, and it would take a bit of programming to say "okay, on this map this text goes at these coordinates, but on THIS map they go here, and on THIS map they go there" and so on.

Well although it may be impractical to put this information on the clipboard map/pic of fields, strat targets,  how bout an additional drop down in the clipboard with objects hardness and lbs of ordinance required to destroy it?
