You'll always be spoiled by HTC customer support-service
« on: May 01, 2001, 02:26:00 PM »
Going on 7 days now, I received an email from a competing online sim developer...to keep a long story short, at the bottom of the letter read this:

Quote
If you have any problems please contact me regarding them and I will get you squared away as quickly as possible.

I did have problems technically almost immediately. I emailed these folks, via 3 different routes. That was 7 days ago.

My point is this: Smaller companies are better for customer support/service.  Imagine what kind of customer service one would get from an online gaming provider where the player base reaches upward of ,say 10,000 users.  Do you honestly think you're going to get the same customer support or service like you do with a smaller company like HTC?  Ask Microsoft users that have tried to contact their support people.

In summary, I don't care how good a game is, if the customer support or service level is missing, I personally can live life just fine without it on my hard drive.

Edit: It was 7 days ago from today that I sent this 'Very Large Online Software Company with a highly anticipated online game' an email with no reply.

Amen.  You can guess what kind of response you get from Verant/Sony with a player base of over 300,000.  Out of a half dozen emails that I have sent them, I have NEVER gotten a response.

Both times I have emailed HTC I got a response within the business day.

Going on day 2 have not recieved a second reply I sent out to HTC about a squad bbs.  ASked how to rectify problem and have yet to recieve a simple asnwer.  Maybe you all can help,

I am the CO of my squad but I changed my nick after 6 weeks.  but my old nick is still listed as the CO which is no longer an active account.  I did give full priveleges to another member.  HTC won't give us a squad BBS because our "CO" does not have an active account.  I did reply to them explaining the situation and asked how to rectify it since I am the CO.  As of yet no response.

I did respond to your emails, AG.

If you want a squad forum, you'll need to reform your squad under your new id.

Rip,
Was your problem with said anonymous company related with 'loging in'?
If so I am having the same problem, emailed them a week ago, and all I got was an automated response wich solved nothing.

Thanks Ronni I only got the one, "stating assign forums to squads with an active CO account"  I sent off another email right after that on how to correct the problem.  And never recieved word back on how to fix it.  Thanks though for the answer we will be reforming tonight.

Yessir!  And if that is a brief look into the future of things to come, they can keep their sim.

Well, compare it to vacationing in Hawaii, you stay at the very best hotel, get the very best room, you have a great time...until...you get lousy room service, a lousy meal that gives you the squirts, and then to top it off, you discover rats in your room....would you go back to that Hotel?

I wouldn't.

Moose, we're talking about something most folks take for granted (until it affects *them*) since you have it here in Aces High...Good customer support and services.
