The GF's that most of you are familiar was the 2nd incarnation of the designation. The first being the group affectionately known as the "94th Parachute Runfighters" from around 1988.

The 4th FG "WarHawks" formed in January 1990.  

The GunFighters formed sometime in 1991 and didn't join the 4th FG until 1992.

The LA Con was 1992 wasn't it?  I know Lancer was supposed to go with BlueBaron and I to LA and he bailed on us.

And does anyone know what happened to Kite?

Aha found stuff....got my timeline mixed up thought I joined GF early on before I did the training academy gig.  I didnt join untill after that course...so I first flew in 90, but didnt join until (iirc) late 91.  It couldnt be to much later than that because I got that super computer early in 92.

Poor Heater I dont think he ever dealt with somebody quite like me.  I had only even *tried* to land a plane once.  And there he was trying to get me and my PC-AT to land on a carrier.  He finally settled for me being able to crash in the middle of the deck hehe
