Hehe...In one sortie last night, I took out 2 PIII's, an 88, and a Half-track using a Hurricane and one load of .303 ammo.

I can get used to A/G sorties with those results, using only .303's.   :)

Maybe I'm just Sgt. York reincarnated though  :)

Staga-

In every post I leave the possibility I may be wrong. I am asking a question, not "whining". Grow up.

And, if you weren't in such a hurry to defend the game, you'd see I am talking about a specific type of cannon disabling, one that leaves the crew alive. Seems to me that if the bullets penetrated they would kill the crew, not simply knock the gun out.

The type of ammo loaded in the CRS model is not the armor-piercing you quote. That makes a world of difference in my book. Also, how long on target is required? What angle?

Finally, quoting tech pubs from CRS is pointless to me. Logically my argument is they have done it incorrectly. They will hardly publish documentation to refute their implimentation.

I have a copy of WWIIO that I won't be using but I refuse to let anyone else have it because I am not that cruel!

It was a good idea but when they listened the infantry whiners and got spawn limits it totally ruined the game.

The CTD, low fps, 10057 errors, black outs for no reason, falling thru terrain, spawn limits all make the game not worth a penny!

Well according to Hatch there's only a few tweaks needed to make all right with WW2O.

Westy

Looks the same over there as it does here. Except Hatch actually goes over there and posts.  Hmm, even if he's right and WWIIOL has a better FM than our own Aces High, AH is still more fun for me than his game.  Therefore, HTC, not CRS, gets my monthly cash.   :)  The rest of the world can form their own, independent opinion and decision.

Hmmm... I think Hatch is the last person to go to for an honest unbiased oppinion on the FM.  Its quite obvious he's pointing to a specific aspect as opposed to the overall model.

I also like the fact that he took the opportunity to dig on Warbirds (and HT indirectly).

I can't believe the way some people focus on the improvements they make to a game as opposed to actually creating one from scratch themselves.  Fricking amazing.

"Looks the same over there as it does here"

Not really (IMO of course).  I honestly have to hand it to, and respect, both Pyro and HiTech for both not getting involved with the small petty dig slinging that thier competitors in other web boards do.  Hell, you never see anyone at HTC play up AH at the expense of any other game/sim (directly or via inuendo) nor do they hype AH as the others do with thier product. I cannot say the same several at CRS or iEN over the last year.

Simply put, there are those who "talk" good and those that "do" to show how good they are.  HTC are "do-ers"    :)

I don't post on AGW anymore, but if I did I would surely take Mr. Hatch to task. That is a load of bs. There are parts of the WWIIO f/m that are cool, but there are such obvious, glaring probs it boggles the mind he should be bragging about it. *cough*no drag*cough*

Sure, fix the mentioned and unmentioned items, THEN go hitting the other BBS's bragging about how good it is. Don't be fooled by "it's in there", it is as ubiquitous CRS term as "soon" or "buy more ram".

WWIIO is in no way a patch away from being right!!

Sorry but I wouldn't believe anything that came out of a CRS employee's mouth right now.

Last night I was flying in a Hawk. I got a good kill on a 110, sent him down in flames  :) then I started srafing inf that were hiding in a clump of trees, waiting for it to get clear so they could run to a building.

I made about 3 or 4 passes before I got all of them.  Well at this point i'm slow and low, about 50ft agl.  My prop is set to the economy setting so I set it to MAX to get my speed back up.  I popped over a hill about 1 mile away from the troopers I had just killed and at the bottom is a panzer 2 pointed at me.  He started shooting that 37mm HE at me so I jinked to the right. I almost made it, but 1 shell hit my spinner.

I think that some shrapnel from the HE round hit my left wing, that or it ricocheted because I immediately started rolling to the left with little athority in the roll axis, but enough to get me straight.  The cool thing though was what happened with the prop.  As the shell hit and the plane rolled, it started shaking too.  The engine started to whine loud, like I had it wide open.  My speed on the other hand started to drop.

I was messing with the prop rmp settings with no effect, the engine still whined and speed stayed the same.  I cut the throttle back and the engine rpm settled down, but my speed dropped to much so I firewalled it again.

So here I am at 100 ft agl 160 KPH about 50 miles from base and the sun is going down.  I was lucky to be headed in the right direction to get home.  I had to use flaps to stay above the trees, so I headed for the river that rus just south of our base.  That way I could stay low without augering into a tree or hill.  I was SO SLOW!! all I could do was hold the stick right to keep her level as I watched the sun go down.

I could barely see the bridge as I got to Mauberg (where the airfield is) but I knew I had to turn to land.  So I made my turn to the right and by this time I had gained abou 200 ft of alt to make it over the trees.  Only problem was that I couldn't SEE!!  I flew until I though I was over the field at about 20 ft.  Then I chopped the throttle to let the plan stall for landing (thinking I was 20ft agl).  The plane stalled, then the left wing kept sinking!!!!  LOL I was still at 100ft or so because I almost flipped inverted just before I saw the tree that ended my flight  :)

FM has some big problems still, but there's lots in there that WB or AH don't have (YET  ;) )  I'm still in AH though  :) I don't always want a 1 or 2 hour mission!!  AH is great for furballing too, not too much of that in WW2OL.  It's too important to RTB for rank and stuff.

The way I see it there are 2 good companies out there, HTC and CRS.  All IEN did was put a new face on ICI (HT's) code.  I did WB3 in august and aside from the new look everything else worked/felt/acted virtualy the same as it did when I quit WB 2.7 over 2 years ago.  NOW that being said, I hope that CRS is able get people to look past the poor release and to start playing their game.  That may be tough though, as most of the people I see really seem to hate them for that and seem to be fairly unforgiving.

For now I'm happy though  :)  I get 2 games for less than what I used to pay for just AH  :D

I seldomely give forgiveness without receiving an apology first.  I never get it when they forgivee would rather blame, insult and outright lie before admitting a mistake was made.

I agree with Udie.

I remember when I bought Falcon4 and in night mission I looked down from cockpit and saw flashes in ground from artillery strike. It looked nice and gave a nice feeling "there's a battle going on down there and I'm up here to help them".

Now there's a game where I'm in same situation but this time human players are manning tanks, cannons and boats and playing infantry down in the ground.
It gives nice warm feeling to drop 500kg to the Char which is waiting our panzers behind a corner in the city or strafe a AT-gun next to the road.

Game has some bugs and I hope they can iron those out but at in my case 1.31 was a reason why I subscribed.

Udie and Staga-

I totally respect those viewpoints. Hey, if it works for you, go for it. I won't tell you you are not having fun- which is why I gave mine away. Someone might actually like it.

I thought about registering, but it occurred to me if I ever had any dissatisfaction I would have to suffer in silence. You see, if you complain you will be labeled. Take your example here, Staga. No way I was personal with you, but you turned it personal with me. That is how the whole community is there, and I thank you for your help in clarifying the point I wanted to make.

Agreed. My experence in life when someone has to go and belittle someone else, or build themselves up "braggart" it usually means they are full of toejam. Hitech has a good product and he lets it talk for itself. There is no need to brag or belittle his competitors.
