You do know that buying stock based on news in the regular media is asking for trouble right? If you do so you are waaay behind others and you will prolly be the one they make money on.

I R confused....

Total equity is up. Todays return is in the green. But it says under gain loss of my stocks its over $6,000 in the red.

All the numbers don't always update at the same time... or even correctly.

Took 3 days before the market value of one of my stocks was fixed. I show -$1000 until this morning. Then, just before the market even opened, I was $800 up on the same stock like I was supposed to be.

Its not really, but you have to pay attention and focus on segment of the market that you know (or want to learn). Im guessing that most folks just buy on gut feeling, a brandname they know or some rumors a friend has told them.

You better learn about what all the numbers and names like "PE" etc mean and what they should tell you.

It really is a fulltime job, and it doesnt start or end when the bell at your respective exchange rings.

Well Nokia ended up with only a tiny little gain. I had every intention of dumping it earlier but had a meeting and missed the chance. I wish we could trade on the LSE though...especially after the meeting.
