odd FPS ...THING!!

i dunno a better title for it.
I have been getting this very odd "occasional" effect of my frames dropping to around 5 at times when there isnt alot happening IE> smoke, buildings lots of cons.
It starts out as a stutter kind of effect then they just bottom out for a couple of seconds.

My normal FPS are 75+
Have NEVER had this issue with this machine before

some specs:
AMD 64FX
ATI 256 MB pci express
2 GBs of memory
2 250gb sata HDs

BTW the only reason my frames run around 75 is my old monitor wich im upgrading in about a month

I have the same problems when bombs hit somewhere less than 10k distance from me, frame rate stutters like mad.

I had the same thing.  My frame rates were quit solid no matter how busy the area was.  After the patch, my frame rates dropped, and I had pauses in a busy area.

I copied the HTC folder, and deleted everything.  I downloaded a fresh full install, and re-installed everything including a new high res, and skins install.  I think put back my Settings folder, Sights, and ahiiterr folders.  

This did the trick and my frame rates were normal.  About the only thing different I notice is I now have the default sounds.  It may be possible that it had something to do with the sound files.
