In Russian IL-2 forum (
http://www.sukhoi.ru/cgi-bin/forum/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=5 ) Oleg and some other developers said they optimised the code, and the beta-demo is slower then release. So - I think your machine will be good enogh.
But, unfortunately, they optimised the game for Intel CPUs, and on AMD it can be slower.
What worries me now is when they are going to release a Russian version. Western relases (not "pirated" copies") come to Moscow in a matter of months
I want my legal boxed copy with original pilot's manual, flight book and a T-shirt. The recommended price for a box is $21 in Russia, but looks like it will appear even later then "jewel" version...
The most funny thing about IL-2 is that the Russian community is divided into "online pilots", mostly WBers, and "offliners". Onliners find many FM bugs, critisise the AI (artificial idiots), and usually tear "offliners" to a British flag in H2H. I have tons of fun watching their flames
Typical arguments: "You don't know how to fly! You, onliners, don't follow the RL regulations! Your tactics is useless!" - "Precise and correct maneuvering in air combat leads to pilot's death (c) Alexander Pokryshkin. Now - look, who's burning?"
