Anybody have one yet? Planning on it soon?

Just curious. I get to stand on the sidelines and watch the parade go by, so to speak

My X6800 Extreme arrived yesterday.  I plan on building the system this weekend, if I have time.

Reminds me of one of my favorite lines from Frasier -- and typing it out cant hope to make it as funny as the first class delivery did:

Quote

Dad: Yeah, the dog's name is Eddie....we call him "Eddie Spaghetti."

Frasier: Is that what he likes to eat?

Dad: Nah, he has worms.

The cutting edge, worldbeating chip-o-the-month....Intel's AMD beater.

And its $1255 for the processor alone at Newegg.....

That's for the 6800 Extreme.  I did not pay that much, but it is the most expensive of all the Conroe's.  Clock unlocked so it will be some fun.

As I build a computer once every 3 to 5 years, I usually go for the top of the line, so it will last.

Here is the parts list:
Motherboard: ASUS P5WDG2-WS
CPU: Intel X6800 Extreme
RAM: 2GB of PC6400 DDR2-800 Crucial RAM
Video Card: HIS Radeon X1900XTX 512MB

Those are the main items.  I will retain my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card, Sony Dual layer DVD burner, Sony DVD-ROM, case and power supply from my old system.

I am feeling better today.  Heck, I actually managed to eat some solid food today and kept it down.  WOOT!  Funny how you appreciate the little things, like eating, when you can't do it for a couple of days. :)

On the other hand, I know far more about pooping and spewing than I care to know and will not miss the later at all, and looking forward to the former returning to a state more consistent with solid waste matter.
