It's not acceptable to me personally.

However, it IS an acceptable method in certain parts of the world. By acceptable I mean, acceptable to the gov't or the people in general of a particular country.

How does that show the US in a bad light? The US can train the Iraqis for years in modern interrogation techniques but if the Iraqis dont use that knowledge and instead, choose to use torture....that's all the fault of the US and we now look bad?

Riiiight. Taking pictures of semi-nude or nude prisoners equates to physical torture. That must be why the prisoners begged the Americans to either not leave, or take the prisoners with them.
